Use offline map tiles before downloading them

When entering poor cell reception areas I noticed that the map updates slowly. But I have a download of the map. The app is not using it because there is some cell data available. One I turn on airplane mode the maps load quickly. But turning on and off airplane mode is a hassle. I wonder if Gaia GPS could have a mode where it uses available offline maps first before trying to download them. If the download succeeds, I get an updated map. If it fails or is slow I still see the offline map version. Thanks, Kai
