Why did stats on a per folder basis go away?

I have monthly goals for various activities.

I used to be able to organize my tracks into folders for each month and use the stats for that folder to track my progress.

Sometime in the last couple months that went away.

After poking around I found some stats on my profile page. You view those various ways but not month to date. just year to date.

Why would you remove functionality. 

Why aren't there more robust stats abilities?
