Waypoints - How to handle

We are just adding posts to a trail network and I am adding waypoints at home to GAIA then going out and physically putting them in the ground. My problem is that all waypoints are either all on or all off. Can you group them into areas, layers, routes. So you can bring up one trail at a time with that trails waypoints only?

  I currently accomplish this via folders where the folder is the name of the trail/track/route I am focused on. Then you can hide specific folders but not others. I know there is a post in here asking for a better organization structure other than folders (like tags where a point or other item could have multiple tags and be filtered) but I couldn’t find it to reference for you.
