GAIA Web - any way to draw a track?
With the GAIA web app is there any way to draw a track? Not a route, but a track. I use this to draw planed tracks before heading out in the back country (where routes dont work).
Right now I have to use Garmin Basecamp or Google Earth to draw the track, export it, and then import it. Sort of defeats the purpose of GAIA web.

A few notes on tracks vs routes:- A Track is a path which is recorded on your device as you walk it. More information on Tracks: Record & Resume Tracks
- A Route is a Pre-Planned path which is created by dropping points to determine a route. More information on Routes: Create and Measure Routes, Create a Route on gaiagps.com
You can view routes in the backcountry by using the Gaia GPS app on your phone.
If you create a route on the web, you may need to sync your app with the website to see the route in the Saved menu in the app.
Snap to trail routing doesn't work offline yet, but if you create the route on the web and sync to the app, snap to trail will work.

Why be so limiting? It is not this way in other mapping tools. Tracks are simply a series of points. Routes are a series of waypoints that can be navigated. Tracks can be created anytime or using a device.
In many other mapping tools (google earth, basecamp, etc) both tracks and routes can be created manually ahead of time and then displayed on the map or the device.
I like the idea of GAIA on how it seamlessly syncs from web to device, but I am finding too many limitations that make it unsuitable for my mapping purposes. I will cancel my subscription and check back in a year or so to see if the tool has evolved.
