Apple Watch features are a disappointment
AnsweredUnless I'm missing something, the only two options I see with Gaia on my Apple Watch are Record and Navigate. I don't want to do either one with my watch. (My iPhone is far superior for those tasks.) What I WOULD like is to be able to glance at my watch and see trip data like miles, elevation gain, distance to destination if navigating a route, time elapsed, etc. Would like to be able to specify 3 or 4 things to view, with the watch simply "copying" the information from the Gaia iPhone app in an easy-to-read-at-a-glance format.

@AnneMarie,
Thanks for reaching out about this.
The Watch app works independently of the phone app, so it's not possible to just copy the information from the phone app to watch for viewing. However, I think that most, if not all, of the information you want is available in the Record and Navigate features. When you record a track on the Apple Watch, you can see miles, elevation gain, and time elapsed. The Navigate button is used for following a route created in the app, and you can use the route map view to see your progress along a route.
You can read more about how the Watch app works here: Gaia GPS on Apple Watch
