Forum moderation - could you mark issues "resolved" instead of removing the thread?

We had a topic regarding saving waypoint didn't work on the web interface version of GaiaGPS. Later the problem was resolved but the OP was deleted. I believe it's better to mark the thread as "resolved" and closed instead of removing it. It seems to be strange.
