Shading & Map Coloring Update to Gaia GPS base map poor choice
AnsweredBase map has been recently changed. It is now harder to find parks (dark green does not stand out against light green as well as green against white, as previously). Also was base map shading also reduced? The base map is becoming unusable for backcountry travel. Poor choices. Please revert to prior coloring choice (higher color contrasts) and shading (more relief shading in base map). For backcountry travel I will need to resort to using a different app in the meantime....

Hi @vinnyc927,
You can find more information about the changes to Gaia Topo on our blog: https://blog.gaiagps.com/all-new-gaia-topo/
The shaded relief is a new addition to Gaia Topo. If you want even more definition though, you can add in the Shaded Relief layer.
I also recommend adding the Public Land (US) layer if you want more definition for parks.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll share it with the rest of the team.Comment actions
