Long press to add a waypoint
Not plannedRight now the default operation on iOS is a long press places a waypoint as the first waypoint of a route.
Not sure how others see it but it seems the more handy approach would be a long press adds a waypoint only. Than another long press adds another waypoint and so on.
Than a long press on the last waypoint provides and option to create a route connecting the just created waypoints.
If you think about how it now is......you want to add a waypoint, other than "my location" you tap the plus, than "add waypoint" than you must press to select the waypoint and move it where you want. That is a lot of steps.
Again simpler to just long press to add a waypoint NOT to start a route.
Interested in others thoughts.

Hey there,
Thanks for opening this feature request. This is an interesting idea.
To help other users, I've updated the title of your post to better reflect the feature you're requesting. It's marked as 'not planned' as we don't have any plans to work on this at the moment, but this post can serve as the official request for this feature.

I accidentally long press when scrolling/zooming all the time. So I often accidentally start new routes which I then have to cancel. I agree having a long press simply create a waypoint is a more useful option, without the connecting them to make a route option described above. Even more useful works be a setting to control what a long press does including an option for nothing, which is what I would choose.
