Cannot Edit Waypoints of *Imported* Maps

Hi, I can't quite find this particular problem. A friend of mine and I are planning a long road trip together. We are both working in Gaia, but sending GPX files to each other. I can see waypoints in the files, but when I import them, I get an uneditable route with no waypoints showing. 

Is there a way to restore the waypoints/editing ability for an imported map that was originally made on Gaia?

  It's not possible to edit imported routes, sorry about that.  A shared folder may work better for what you are trying to do.  Here's how to use a shared folder:
