which map shows road surface gravel vs paved?
I am fortunate to have a myriad of small backroads for cycling. I lay out the routes ahead of time on Gaia. I like working on the PC with a large monitor. I'm not obsessive about the details. Just trying to visualize options for a 15 mile ride, a 20 mile ride, what would it take to ride to there and back, stuff like that. Well, I can't find any of the map layers that differentiate paved vs gravel roads. There I am, an hour into the ride, and the next turn takes me onto a gravel road. Well, I can handle that for a couple miles, but what about the next turn? and the next? Am I going to be on gravel for the next hour? I can't tell how many of these little roads are gravel (dirt).
Any of y'all found a map layer that differentiates gravel roads?
PS: in Virginia; all public county roads for cars; not talking about FS roads or mountain bike trails.

Hey, I found it. Gaia Overland, available as feet or metres. I'm trying the feet, and it's correct for the area I bike in.
So, okay, it's great to see one of these posts answered.
