Aviation tracks are killing me

I find Public Tracks layer to be a very useful overlay, but the tracks made by planes and helicopters can make a mess of that layer.

When I click one of these tracks in the browser, there is a very promising looking slider button 'Map Visibility - Off'. As far as I can tell, this slider does nothing. The tracks still show in the browser, even after a hard refresh and cache clear. When I re-sync my mobile device, the maps are still there on the public tracks layer. How can I actually get rid of these?
