frequent updating
I noticed that some specific maps in my layered downloaded maps update every two to three days. The maps are MVUM, USFS Roads and Trails, USFS Recreation Sites, and Gaia Overland (feet). I appreciate new updated maps being pushed to us when available, but this seems incredibly frequent. What's up with that? The downloads always complete and everything seems fine afterward.

that seems excessive. I have all those in my layered map and they don’t update that often.
are you sure they are actually updating? Mine do update the listing fairly often but they are
just reorganizing from the stored downloads locally, not downloading new copies
which would take much longer as my layered map uses more than 500 G of storage on my iPhone and iPad.0 -
I can see them downloading in the saved/download area, just as if I was downloading them for the first time. It does take 10 - 15 minutes to complete.
What does it look like when yours is updating/reorganizing. I don't think I've experienced or noticed that before.

My layered map is a set of 11 different maps combined. Each map section is
limited to 10K tiles downloaded at a time by Gaia. Each of those uses 3-4 hours to download
via my WiFi. Several months to build about half of the state of Georgia in 126 sections.
when Gaia reorganizes the entire map from local storage it might take a few hours to do.
Quite different from the original download of many months.0 -
Actually, it's almost everyday. The updates seem to go along without a hitch. The map names are "grayed out" indicating an update is available. Then afterwards, the name is again black. I have it set so it updates automatically. Then when I open the app all the updates commence on those four maps I mentioned before. I find it strange that no one else has noticed something like this. It's not a problem and, of course, I have it set to only download on wifi. Oh well, just a strange little quirk.
