Use external storage option is brain dead and totally misnamed

Adding to the uselessness of this "option", it appears that it doesn't even really move the data off the internal storage to external, it just copies the data.  So it can't be used to free up space on the internal storage to make room for different maps and such.  And since in Android 12 there's no way for any other APP to access and remove these files there's no way to make room for additional data.

I FINALLY received some feedback on this issue from Gaia Support - it's a known problem.  And because of their policy of not publishing timelines or what they're working on I, along with others, are left pretty much in the dark hoping and waiting for some resolution in the future.  I wasted a week trying to figure out what I might be doing wrong and trying to find work-arounds for what I now know is a known problem.

I can understand the policy of not wanting to post timelines, work schedules and progress in development/maintenance activities but they really need to consider putting up a public interface to their bug/reported problem database.   Without some user accessible database of known issues users are frustrated and turn negative on the product due to the total information vacuum.

Got an e-mail from support this morning (3/15/23) that the problem with external storage is fixed in the 2023.2 Android version.  Downloaded it and it appears to be working as expected.
