My downloaded maps are disappearing
-
This may be related to two of the numerous bugs I've encountered, and like you I'm not getting any support or response on any of them.
One bug is that if a map downloads to your device but has one or more errors (usually missing tiles), on the next sync cycle it will remove the map from your device and then attempt to download it again. I think the only solution at the moment is to close your Internet connection on your device immediately after it has completed one full sync cycle and before it starts another one.
The second bug is a sync bug. If you remove a map from your account but not from your device, the next sync cycle will remove the map from your device before syncing the cache and metadata. So following the removal of the map (because it's no longer in your account), it will sync the cache and metadata. But it sees that your device still has metadata for the map that has just been removed, so it proceeds to download the map again even though it's no longer in your account! This infinite loop is repeated on each subsequent sync cycle. The only solution I've found is to delete all the GaiaGPS APP's data and cache on the Android. The downside is that this also removes all other data that you may want to keep, so it has to be downloaded again.
