Trailforks track NOT complete in Gaia!
Hello
I was comparing Trailforks MTB trails in the Gaiagps.com overlay in a certain region with the same region in the original Trailforks.com. I was very surprised to see that by far not all trails present in trailforks.com are also present in Gaiagps.com. This is incomprehensible and also unacceptable from my point of view. What is the reason for this?

i assume they will eventually appear. I tried to figure out when thosemissing trails were added by users to no a vale anything added has to be approved by the local trail authority and then it's added to trail forks site I don't think it appears immediately on the trail forks layer in Gaia it's probably a secondary database like there base map which is only updated every few months or longer and once added to Gaia it doesn't have as much details because they want you to subscribe to both services
I've run into this similar problem being a open street map contributor when I add things to the osm base map they don't appear for many months sometimes and they are very selective on what they put on the map this is the best answer I can come up with afterysing with Gaia for about a year and a half

Hi SteveBob
Thank you for your comment, but I think this could not be the reason due to:
- trails are there since years in the trailforks site and they are also approved (and partly also added by the local trial community!)
- trailforks is now part of the Outside company owning also Gaia. Why should the use a differnt database? an if so, not updating this db for months/years would be a damaging to their business?
Finally, I would appreciate it very much if Gaia would make an official statement here, after all, we pay for this service!

I agree I wish they would answer all the ongoing issues I'm guessing that they're just overwhelmed by the amount of bugs in a 3 platform application it may be a staffing issue or monetary
That sounds like a bug in their database .

i would submit a bug report they usually get back to you on that.
while back I noticed some issues on the maps in my area notified them and they did fix it but there's no guarantee.
their database is planet wide I can't even imagine trying to manage that
