Samsung S8 is not showing correct altitude on maps
From what I have determined, the altitude being shown is the uncorrected altitude without geoid correction. I am not familiar with exactly how this correction works normally, but I have several other apps on this phone and all of them are showing the same uncorrected altitude unless the app specifically has an option to make the geoid correction in the app itself. I come from an iPhone 6 and I never had an issue with an incorrect altitude, so I am not sure if this is a failing of the phone or the apps. Can someone please help me? You can sort of see the problem here. The altitude being shown in Gaia GPS map is 486 feet, the uncorrected altitude.

We're currently showing the uncorrected altitude. We're planning to make it show the corrected altitude -- hopefully soon. No official timeline though.

On my S8 it is reading about 90' lower than actual elevation. Is there a fix for this?

Can you click “Submit a Request” above to send some additional information to the support team? Follow these steps to take a screenshot of the issue:
- Set the Stats bar to display your current Altitude and location coordinates
- Tap the crosshairs to center the map at your current location
- Move to a contour line displayed on Gaia Topo
- Zoom in enough to see the elevation on the contour lines for the map
