Ability to see what portion of a map has been downloadedCompleted
There really should be a feature to easily see what tiles have been downloaded for offline use. I am trying to download a large area and there doesn't appear to be any way to see exactly what has been previously downloaded.
Am I missing something? Seems like it should be the most basic of features.
As of 2020, you can now see your previously downloaded areas in the Android app.
Just make sure your app is updated to version 2020.1 or higher and you should see this functionality in the app.

I just want to agree with everything that has been said. You should be able to choose a large area (e. g. the state of Oregon) and download the maps for it. If you can't do that, you should be able to download the maps piece by piece. My understanding is that you can do that, but it is very difficult. There is no visual clue to what has already been downloaded. This is a basic feature. Most people don't want to download a map for a particular trip -- they just want to grab their phone and go.
I found this comment from Ashli:
There isn't a way to see your previously downloaded sections on Android, but you can generously overlap download areas - the app is smart enough to not download the same tiles twice.
I am downloading a particular area that requires multiple downloads due to tile limits. I have clearly overlapped downloaded areas, but when I look at the size of the downloaded the size of the file shows that app downloaded the same tiles twice. When I have selected an area I go just below the maximum file size. The file size after the download is the same size as the file size I selected. It seems the app is indeed downloading tiles I have previously downloaded.
Sorry for the delayed response. I talked to our developers about this, and they are fairly confident your tiles aren't getting downloaded twice.
I think the reported file sizes are misleading because they're reporting storage for the whole map, including the overlapping spot on each map -- essentially reporting that storage space twice -- but it's not actually resulting in additional disk space being taken up.
When I view the description of a saved map, there is an outline of that map displayed in a small frame near the top of the screen. When I choose "show on main map" that outline is lost. Would it be possible to allow users to choose to have that outline saved as a route named the same as the downloaded map? That way we could keep those routes in a separate folder and they would provide our record of what has been downloaded.
I do this manually, but tu takes a lot of time to trace the outline of the downloaded map and every time I see that outline just sitting there taunting me, I get frustrated!
