Galieo navigation in gps

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if and how its possible to use the Galileo satellites to navigate with my iphone 7 gaia app.

Hmm, good question. The satellite connection is a built-in iOS thing. It looks like the answer might be yes, but only for newer iPhones. Check out the article here: https://www.macrumors.com/2017/09/26/iphone-8-iphone-x-galileo-satellite-support/

My understanding is that Apple hasn’t “turned on” support for Galileo in iOS, though it’s been baked into the hardware from iPhone 8 onward.

It would be great if the kind folks at GaiaGPS could get Apple to let them know when Galileo support is alive and running in iOS 12.X and send out an advisory to their subscribed GaiaGPS base. I’ve got a lot tracks to resurvey when it’s up and running!
