Fitbit Ionic app

Wondering if there's hope that Gaia will develop an app for the new fitbit ionic, at least as a wrist-mounted display for the phone. I imagine that the maps would live on the phone, which would handle most of the gps tracking? would be nice to glance down to see elevation, ascent, pace, distance. I read that fitbit made development easy because it uses js.
