    Hey everyone,

CarPlay integration is now live! You can get all of Gaia GPS’s outdoor map sources on your vehicle’s dashboard touchscreen. CarPlay offers handsfree navigation from city streets to remote dusty dirt roads far from cell service.

Apple CarPlay is available for iOS on iPhone 5s & newer. Learn more and try it today: https://blog.gaiagps.com/gaia-gps-integrates-apple-carplay/

I second this.  While Apple maps are adequate to navigate paved roads, having GaiaGPS display on the CarPlay screen would be an amazing addition to the general usability of the program.

With the new Jeep JL Wranglers supporting CarPlay, it might be a competitive advantage if your maps support those vehicles vs other topographic maps, too.

Just submitted the same request. New Subaru Outbacks and CrossTreks have Apple CarPLay, and this feature would be absolutely wonderful. Having to use my phone while driving is tough and the display is small. Being able to use the built in display in my car would be fantastic.

I too would love Gaia GPS with car play.   Any chance of this happening soon-ish since Apple is opening up the mapping APIs to third party providers in iOS 12?

    Thanks!

Especially now (at least in Canada) That Gaia GPS has partnered with back road map books, it is an indispensable app for backcountry travel and would be infinitely more useful if integrated into your vehicle

I see many comments for your maps to sync with CarPlay.  We want to add that more people REALLY want this.  I would even pay alittle extra for it if I had to.  It's so hard to Jeep off road and use a cell phone.  We bought the new Jeep JL a few months ago and were so excited about CarPlay until we found out NO ONE has produced a link for using maps off road.  Will be very popular for those who have 4x4's!  Any update on this forum would be nice.  I don't see anyone at GAIA commenting..

Thanks for the update Ashli!! I am very excited for this feature. Too many screens in my truck, hell, too many screens everywhere. It's a lot easier to use my dash nav screen while driving than trying to manipulate my phone. Gaia GPS is #1!

while it will be appreciated when it is functional, i've learned something about the

navi on the '18 jeep JLUR. i've been over a fair bit of the mojave preserve, and the

mojave basin, as well as quite a bit of 4wd trails in utah. while GAIA has been running

on an ipad mounted in front of the passenger seat, and has given me tracks i wanted to

follow in all these locations, in 35k miles, i have YET to find a trail that wasn't on the jeep

    navi.

Fulthroti - we did not buy the 18 Jl with built in Nav - unfortunately you had to get the package with the big speakers, upgraded stereo, and other things we did not want.  I assume that is what you mean since we have some Nav with CarPlay, but Waze and Apple maps have not been sufficient for off-roading for us.  If I am missing something, love to hear it - but that is why we are so excited to use Gaia.   I wish Jeep had separated the "packages."  We did get the bigger screen, though.

My 2018 JEEP Rubicon JL would benefit greatly from a CarPlay compatible Ap from GAIA. Please let me know the scheduled date of this release.

I use your product for volunteer search and rescue. Having a offline downloaded maps for my CarPlay to be able to navigate easily both in the trail and in my vehicle would be amazing! It would make your product stand out even more!!! Your name is already well know in our community as being a great resource!

I gust bought a 2019 Subaru Outback and CarPlay would be a game changer! I actually posted about this on on a Subaru forum. As a previous Jeep owner and now a Subaru Outback owner I really feel these “off-road” car manufacturers are missing the boat by manufacturingand promoting these great off-road machines and then give us only crippled city maps. Gaia would be awesome as a CarPlay app while off-road!

miamic70, what is funny is that i have a jeep JL, and the factory gps mapset has the most comprehensive set of maps i've ever seen in a OEM situation. i have only found ONE trail that is not reflected on that map in a year, near mercury, nevada. i've been in some of the least traveled sections of the mojave preserve, and every single track is noted.

and the silly thing gives turn by turn, and ETA on these little trails as well. yeah, i would like GAIA to port to the gps on my jeep, but at this point, i have an ipad on the passenger side of the dash, on a nice mount, and will probably stay with that configuration.

    My Jeep was older.

However, on the Subaru you get nada just roads basically. I too am looking into mounting an iPad mini on a Ram Mount but would be nice to just run in CarPlay as I have a great 8” in the dash already.
