Downloading Open Street Map layer and future plans for driving routes
Hi all,
I still have my old handheld Garmin device, it's clunky and crude, but it always works! I'm trying to upgrade to Gaia rather than upgrade my Garmin device. I've added the Open Street Maps layer to my maps, however, when I download my area (the state of CO), I'm unable to download this layer. This leads me to 2 questions.
1) Is it possible to download the OSM layer? If so, how?
2) Are there any plans to use OSM to do driving directions? I'm currently using OSM data on my Garmin to perform driving navigation, so I know the data is available, it's an issue of adding navigation logic go Gaia GPS

Thanks for using Gaia GPS.
1) The basic OpenStreetMap is not available for download, however, there a several other maps that are based on the OSM database and are available offline. For example: Gaia Topo, OpenHikingMap HD, OpenLandscapeMap HD, and MapBox Streets.2) Yes, the Snap-to-Trail route builder is based on OSM and you can select the Driving mode to create a route based on OSM driving data. However, the app will not provide turn-by-turn directions.
