Convert Tracks or Routes to an Area

IOS has this feature, Android needs the ability to convert tracks/polygons to area, showing acreage and square miles.

  This should be a standard feature. Seems weird that IOS has it but neither Android nor the desktop application do.

  This feature would make this app an excellent tool for mapping wildfire areas.  Now, I have to use other apps (such as My Tracks) to accomplish this purpose.

  Please add an area calculation feature to the Android app! As a wildland firefighter area calculation is a critical feature for a GPS, without it your app is virtually useless to me and any other wildland firefighter running your app on an Android.

  Adding an up vote for Gaia to push the update through to get this on Android. As a federal IHC Squad Leader this lack of service makes Gaia sit in the back seat to Avenza or Garmin products.

  I already upvoted this. But I was on a fire tonight where I really needed the area to justify a crews and equipment. Please add this to Android. Please. I walked the perimeter of the fire and then nothing. That info isn't at all useful.

  If someone has a program that does area while you hike, please let me know.

  @hunterji Supposedly this feature is "coming soon". In the meantime I have all of my crews use Avenza pro for similar applications - just requires that you have a georeferenced pdf or basemap already in the system for that area.

  4 years ago, 3 years ago ....  Ditto on above request.  Get it done now.  Or provide a real timeline for when it will be done, or just say no and never.  Thanks for considering.
