I actually spent over $1,000 to have the Alpine ILK-F309 installed in my adventure van hoping that one day, we might have Gaia in Android Auto. Really hoping this goes through... I really don't want to have to replace it with the Garmin Overlander.

BTW- I've asked several developer friends and also folks on Reddit and adding this feature isn't as hard as they make it out to be. Just saying 😉

The hiking community has been waiting for more than two years for the Android update, I wouldn't hold your breath...  Yet surprisingly, Caltopo, released an Android app that works flawlessly in a fraction of the time.  Hmmm???

No, Caltopo is not.  My comment above was in frustration in the length of time that it is taking GAIA to update the Android platform, yet other apps seem to be developed and enhanced in a much shorter time period...

Sorry, but I gave up waiting, and switched over to Garmin Overlander.
