also unclear about the new app
I'm a Gaia Pro user with saved maps and waypoints, still using the old app but prompted often to download the new app—if my account is syncing, does that mean I can download the new app and delete the old app without fear of losing saved data? What's the difference between pro and premium? I am happily using Nat Geo topos already, making my reason for needing the new app ambiguous. And why does ten minutes of searching not yield this information?
A few notes: I am not a typical user, and GaiaGPS explanations are often so laconic, I find myself often struggling to apply an explanation to my particular case. For example: None of my info is public. I don't use Facebook. I don't make tracks, rarely make routes. I navigate offline using a few selected waypoints, almost always use purchased topos instead of printed Gaia ones. This is just a reminder that explanations shouldn't assume a single customer profile.
But whining aside, I love GaiaGPS!

Hi,
still using the old app but prompted often to download the new app
Sorry, the prompt should only appear once. If it keeps coming up try force closing and restarting, and please email support if that doesn't fix it!
if my account is syncing, does that mean I can download the new app and delete the old app without fear of losing saved data?
You can double check your account on gaiagps.com. If all of your data shows there, then it is safe to delete the old app.
What's the difference between pro and premium?
Pro was an upgrade in Gaia GPS Classic. In the new app, we're calling it Premium. In both apps, it is the top level Membership. A GaiaPro subscription will act the same as a Premium subscription in the new app, and we're offering Premium at an introductory price of 29.99.
You could email us for instructions on switching to the new pricing -- the instructions vary depending on how you originally purchased Pro.
