Allow routes to jump short distances.
In this example, you can see that in the GAIA Topo map there is a small gap in the trail due to a campground feature. It would be great if the routing system could be set to jump certain distances, as a trail that is only 40' away (in this example) could be assumed to be connected.
Also, It would be amazing if someone the routing feature could be added to other maps like the new NatGeo maps. Unless you got the data directly from them, this would require the app to recognize trails visually. This would certainly be complicated, but would be incredible to have as a feature.

Thanks for posting your idea.
The trails displayed on Gaia Topo are based on the crowd-sourced OpenStreetMap database. I have removed the gap between the trails in the OSM database and the edits can be seen on Gaia Topo in a couple days.Comment actions -
" are based on the crowd-sourced OpenStreetMap database"
I was actually aware of that and fixed the gap myself shortly before posting here. The only problem is that there a tons of other gaps out there, so it would be nice to have the app auto jump gaps up to a certain distance. However, I understand if this is extremely difficult to implement.
