Option to move Stats Bar to bottom of screen or arrow to lower 1/3 of screen

As an offroad motorcycle user, my suggestion would be to have the ability to move the "Stats Bar" to the bottom of the screen instead of at the top. When riding, I'm more interested in where I'm going vs where I've been; having the bar at the top of the page blocks the view track ahead.
Another helpful option for vehicle use would be putting the positional arrow in the lower 1/3 of the screen so you can see the track ahead and associated upcoming turns. When traveling at speed in a vehicle, I'm more concerned with what's up ahead then what I've already traversed.
Also, some kind of Zoom in/out button options would be nice. When I ride during the winter, I can't "pinch to zoom" wearing most winter gloves, so I have to use a stylus. Sometimes I have to do that in the summer too if the gloves I'm wearing aren't touchscreen compatible. Without zoom buttons, I can't even use the stylus, so I always have to take a glove off which gets a little irritating especially if it's raining because a wet hand is hard to get back inside the glove.
Otherwise I'm loving the new App! The map smoothing is much better and the user interface is much cleaner. I've been using Gaia for about 3yrs now and have converted a number of my riding buddies from Garmin over to the App and they couldn't be happier. Keep up the good work!

I agree with this request to move the status bar and provide on screen zoom buttons. Also an off road motorcyclist, just got back from ~50 miles in the Mojave Desert.
Also, it would be helpful if the status bar (and the other bars) weren't so big. I could deal with the large status bar if the heading circle would contain an arrow that points to the destination waypoint.
Perhaps instead of having big bars going across the entire screen with only 4-5 icons/buttons contained in each, there could instead be standalone icons with a background that contrasts with the map. I know they can be hidden, but I don't think they need to take up that much room when displayed.
That said, this app is very good. Switched from Garmin and MotionX and there is no reason to return.

I'm seconding the request to have option to move the status bar to bottom, within easier finger reach. Actually, what I would suggest is a blend of what the new app shows: The record and photo buttons should be back at bottom, and then the Map Track button next to them, as it seems like these are the things you're going to want to reach with a thumb while you're travelling. It's OK to Saved and Settings buttons be at the top with the stats (taking the real estate the Record/Photo buttons occupied.) It's too bad Settings has to be on the screen at all given how infrequently it will be accessed.

I'm strongly contemplating migrating to Gaia maps for offroad motorcycle use. I've been using MotionX GPS for years, but since they no longer support it, I'm looking for a replacement.
I ride in very remote areas of Mexico, often solo. My nav tools have to work.
I just downloaded Gaia and am very disappointed that the only way to zoom is via pinch. It can't be safely done while moving on a motorcycle down a rough trail wearing gloves. I constantly zoom in and out while on a trail. Not having an option to just tap + or - buttons is likely going to be a show stopper for me.
As others have mentioned, I'm not concerned with where I've been, I'm concerned about the upcoming trail I'm on. Moving the position icon to the lower third would be very helpful.

A quick way you can zoom in on the map is by double tapping on the screen - let me know if that works for your purposes!

Ashli, thanks for the response. The double tap works great for zooming in, but then I'm stuck at the higher zoom level with no way to get back unless I stop riding and take off my motorcycle gloves.
Is there a possibility for something like a triple tap option if buttons are not possible?

@jumpstar7 I actually did not realize this until today - but if you tap on the screen with two fingers instead of one - it will zoom out!

Nice. Thanks Ashli! That does make a difference. Now to find some riding gloves with TWO touchscreen compatible fingers. Sorry, I guess you just can't please everyone!
I think I still prefer +/- buttons, but I'm going to give it a shot and test it out this week on some local trails.
I also ordered some conductive thread so I can put a few stitches in the tips of my gloves. Hopefully, that'll help with accuracy and reliability.
