Having issues saving large routes
I tried to create a day-by-day set of routes for my upcoming trip to the Wind River wilderness but I am having trouble creating it on Gaia's website.
Hillmap and Caltopo seem to handle it just fine and I am able to save those GPX files and dump it into Gaia so I have them on my phone but it would be good to understand why Gaia is so much slower and finicky when creating large routes with multiple waypoints (Hillmap seems to handle this just fine, so I have a workaround but not the most efficient way to do it).

Thanks for the feedback on the route builder on gaiagps.com.
We are currently looking into improving the Snap-to-Trail feature. Can you let me know which web browser you use?0 -
Hi Nathan, I wasn't necessarily trying to use the snap to trail feature, I use Google Chrome and I was using the USFS topo maps. I don't think that one has snap to trail anyway. The issue seemed to be that the website was really slow when I was clicking on the map to create way points and it seemed to either miss some way points or randomly connect way points that were farther apart and that also seemed to mess up the mileage / elevation gain math

Thanks for the extra details. I will pass this information on to the Development Team.
