It might be nice for offroading in my Jeep. I use LeadNav for that when I actually want turn by turn navigation. Both apps are really for separate uses. GaiaGPS is definitely nicer and has better map layer support.

    I agree.

This will be a very helpfull feature for off-road cycling.

Yes, this is the on feature that had me really debating between the Garmin 276Cx and the going with Gaia.

I want off line turn by turn navigation.

I'd like to see this for trail use (mtn biking), and overland travel/road travel.  I am often offline while traveling between remote canyons in the Colorado plateau.  Having turn by turn would be great.

To make this 100% useful, I think it would be necessary to have a menu of "Travel By" options.  So you would pick a destination, then pick hiking, biking, ATV, Jeep....etc.  That way, it could pick the best route that fits the mode of travel.  If you are in a Jeep it would only pick trails and roads that allowed jeeps.  Same for Mtn Bikes, ATV,.....etc.

Then onroad, could have more options like shortest route, less hiways, less tolls....etc.

Of course this would only work for maps that already downloaded.

I realize this is an old post but I also would like to see this feature. I am currently using this for an upcoming Baja event and driving at moderate speeds off road it would be nice to not have to continually look at a map to see where a turn is. Other than that I feel this is a great application.
