Waypoints don't open when tapped on iPhone 12 Mini

I have a super annoying problem with using the Gaia app on my iPhone 12 Mini.

On most zoom settings where the waypoint icon is visible and isolated from other waypoint icons, when I tap on the icon, nothing happens. I have to zoom WAY IN to get the tap to reveal the waypoint information.

Anybody else have this problem or know how I might solve it?
