Location marker / arrow doesn't move with map

The location marker does not follow along as I move. I've pressed the locator circle. Precise location is on. Battery saver is off. There is no problem tracking my location because the record track feature works - the line follows along, but this is not sufficient as a GPS marker for navigation since I often overlap with the same or similar color tracks or backtrack on the same trip.

This is a bug, not something that can be fixed with some setting I've missed. It worked previously but has been broken since January or February of this year for me. It dramatically decreases the utility of Gaia GPS by making it not as useful as a GPS navigation tool.

I have a Pixel 6 and I've seen this issue posted for various Android and iOS devices.

  Several of us in our offtoad group are having this issue. This needs to be resolved because the app is pretty much useless without the position cursor.

  I have a Pixel 5a and fixed this issue by changing some "Developer Options":

  Window animation scale = 1x

  Transition animation scale = 1x

  Animator duration scale = 1x

  These are supposed to be the default values, but mine were set to "off" by default.

  Yes! This fixed it. Thank you! I will also let Gaia customer service know that this is the resolution for Android phones.

  Thanks it works!  Finally fixed the issue on both my Samsung phone, and tablet.
