If you prefer to limit access to your information, here are the ways you can opt-out of tracking and data collection and still use Gaia GPS to its fullest.
Make sure your default sharing setting is 'Private' (iOS)

- Sharing settings are always private by default on Android
- You can also change the public/private status of individual items from the web like this
Disable analytics
- Visit your Settings page on the web: https://www.gaiagps.com/settings/
- disable Web and Discover analytics
- disable Web and Discover analytics
- In the app:
- iOS: Settings > Other > toggle Disable Analytics
- Android: Settings > Account > toggle Disable Analytics
- Please note, this will significantly limit how well the Support team is able to assist you, should you request customer support.
If you’re concerned about background location tracking
- On iOS: Open the Settings app > Gaia GPS > Location > While Using
- On Android: Open the Settings app > Applications > Gaia GPS > Permissions > toggle on "Location".
- If you are running version 2020.11 of the app or newer, set the location permission for Gaia GPS to Allow only while using the app
- Earlier versions of the app require the location permissions to be set to Allow all the time.
