Turn On and Off POIs

    You can toggle off the built-in POIs by:

    • open Gaia GPS > Layers menu > tap "Trailbehind POIs" > toggle off the POI categories you do not want to view on the main map

    I'm sorry for the mixup, it looks like you may be using the iOS version of Gaia GPS which has POI labels built into the Gaia Topo layer and can be searched for using the search bar.

    Were these removed from the iOS app a while ago? I haven't seen then in many months and I was reminded of them by looking at a friends Android phone with Gaia installed.

    Thanks for posting.

    Yes, the Trailbehind POI overlays in the classic iOS version of Gaia GPS were replaced by the new vector-based Gaia Topo map in the new app. Gaia Topo now includes built-in POI icons that you can tap for more information.

    How do you delete the built in POI icons?
