Hard to use App
I am looking for a GPS app that is going to help to make my life easier as I hike in the national forest, where connectivity isn't possible. As I begin to retro my use of Google Earth and Maps in offline mode, it has been nearly impossible to import geotagged photos, change way point icons and in general create a map that can allow me to catalogue geologic features and bush beating paths.
Is there some time of course or site that will help to train me to do this?

I am an obsessive user of GaiaGPS on the trail, but I personally find the CalTopo web app easier to use for the purposes you describe. It is easy to export/import tracks and routes between the two programs.
