Rotation of Location Marker

The symbol that shows my location does not face the direction of travel. This is confusing when I get off trail. Just like an airplane has an airplane symbol showing the direction of travel, the Gaia location symbol should point to the direction of travel.

Any advise on how I can get it to do that?

  Hi Jan,
  
  You may need to recalibrate your compass.
  
  Follow these steps from Apple to do so:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Privacy
  3. Select Location Services
  4. Select System Services at the bottom of the list of apps in the Location Services
  5. Turn your compass calibration to "On"

  
  If that doesn't work, try disabling and reenabling the Compass.
  
  

  • Open Gaia GPS > Settings > Map Controls > toggle Compass Off
  • Close the app
  • Wait 30 seconds
  • Relaunch the app
  • Toggle the compass back on
