Stopped Time Computation

I wonder how many seconds you need to be absolutely still for it to count as “stopped time”? I very often see 0 or extremely little “stopped time” when I know I did plenty of what I consider to be short “stops”. Of course this also goes into the computation of moving time and moving speed. Thanks for any known answers.

  Fascinating. I’m new and that was my first attempt at help from this “community”. Is it a tradition to provide useless answers? Are you making a clever reply that actually answers my reasonable question? Are you showing off your sci fi acumen whenever and wherever you can?

  Hey Jon,

  The app back-calculates stopped time for every 50 GPS points that come in. If you haven't moved out of a certain radius for a chunk of time, then it adds that to the Stopped Time calculation.
  It's always 0 if the speed between points is less than 0.1 m/s, but we look for areas with very little movement for 20+ seconds and filter them more heavily, so it is more likely that they will come in under 0.1 m/s.
