Need Add'l Nat Geo Maps for PA and NY
AnsweredI frequently use Nat Geo maps for the Allegany State Park in NY and Allegheny National Forest region in PA (yes spelled differently), and they are wonderful. There are many areas outside of ASP and ANF that I venture to as well, but the available maps are not adequate at all because they don't have much information on the various state parks, hiking trails and such. For example, Cook Forest just south of ANF and North Central PA are filled with all sorts of camping, hiking and fishing areas, but the available maps hardly show any details.
Can Gaia please look into including Nat Geo maps for additional areas? I already posed this question about the Adirondack Region in NY. There are Nat Geo maps already available, so Gaia needs to work on adding them to the app.

Hey Paul,
Adding more Nat Geo maps isn't really something under our control. The maps we include have been digitally pieced together by Nat Geo. It's not a source that we create in-house. We have an ongoing contract with Nat Geo that allows us to add more areas as they make them available to us. You can be sure we'll update the source as soon as they send us more tiles. We'll make a big fuss about these updates in our newsletter and blog too. We know NG maps are popular so we always share when there's an update.
There may be some licensing restrictions that prevent us from providing all areas that Nat Geo covers though, even if they have digital versions of the area. Such is the case of the Adirondacks.
