Error on Nat Geo Trails Illustrated: How do I report?
On the Nat Geo T.I. base map, the peak of Gibbs Mountain (in N.C., Black Mountains) is shown as 5545', though it should actually be around 6200'. This is significant because 6,000 ft peaks have more importance, and this peak is one on the list for the "South Beyond 6k Challenge".
I have checked the entry in OpenStreetMap, but that is correct. https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/357807441
Can anyone tell me how to best report this error?
Thanks,
Jerry

Hello Jerry:
Here is the Internet Contact page for National Geographic Maps. Because these are National Geographic maps sourced by Gaia, I doubt reporting errors to Gaia will help.
You might also try the USGS GNIS Database as that is likely the source for some of the information on National Geographic maps (as well as others).

Thanks! I will try both of these options, and report back if successful.

I just wanted to follow up. I contacted Nat Geo via the email address @snell provided. They got back to me within 2 days, thanking me for the information and stated that it had been submitted to the cartographic editor for review. I am very happy with this response, and I am hopeful it will get corrected.
Thanks again for the lead on reporting this issue!
Thanks,
Jerry
