Distance consistently being overstated (on an iPhone X compared to other iPhones)
I get consistently longer Distances on my iPhone X than fellow hikers (my data is now referred to as the “vanity stats”, for those who like to imagine they hiked much farther than they actually did...) who have earlier but still fairly recent iPhones. I’ve powered down and powered up (though only once, but will try doing it several times just in case that will help) with no apparent effect, so am wondering if others with iPhone X’s have had similar issues, perhaps because the receiver is behaving differently than the Gaia algorithm anticipates and is thus adjusting for. I seem to get more squiggly lines than other fellow hikers, though that may just be how they look to me. (This seems similar to the concern of hoops225 a year ago; I’m wondering if the different iPhones may be a signficant contributor to the differences in distances if they have different sensitivities to receiving GPS data.)
