Snap to Trail not working correctly in Kings Canyon

I am trying to complete the route back to Kearsarge Pass from Lake Reflection.  When I attempt to draw any points north of Lake Reflection, it snaps me to some pointlessly convoluted route over Harrison Pass, Forrester Pass, etc. that adds 30+ miles.

You really should have a simple toggle to turn the snap feature OFF when drawing a route.  When it works, it works well, but in my experience it works 50% of the time at best.  I've drawn and redrawn routes in different ways trying to work around this wonky feature.

Just give us an easy way to toggle it on and off!

Also, I'm using gaiagps.com, not the iOS app.  Drawing routes on the iOS app is painful.  I did try to complete this route using the iOS app and had the same snap to trail problem as I experienced on the website.

  Has never worked for me (iOS), regardless where and if I use car, walking or bike.
