Offline Maps problem

Hi, I am using the latest version of Gaia on Android phone. I am downloading multiple offline maps of Macedonia, splitting the area into several parts for a less cumbersome download. When selecting the area for the map to download, the areas already downloaded are not showing in shaded red, making it is very difficult to figure out which areas have already been covered. I am pretty sure this feature was available when doing this same procedure last March. 

The only way to check seems to be, selecting the map in the saved section and a preview will show up, however, I am not sure when selecting 'show on main map' the app will show exactly the area downloaded for that particular map.

Also, the offline downloaded maps on my phone app are not syncronising with my account, when opening it on a desktop pc, even after doing a manual sync.
