Basic tools for route editing
Hi,
I have just spent several hours recreating my route with help from pictures and google maps.
And when I'm done and move the map the stupid thing places a waypoint instead destroying parts of my route. And I can't remove the "extra" routes and dragging it into to the correct route only fucks it up even more.
I mean come on some basic features are missing out here, like direction indication when going both ways for a part of the route, see and edit routes through steps like getting directions from navigation system, some basic map controls like one mode for just moving around, one for creating routes, one for editing routes.
At this point I am very disappointed and annoyed with the missing tools and all time lost from tonight.
I will consider another product.
I am sorry to seem harsh but I expected more.

Well, looks like you are frustrated a lot. Since I have been a regular user of all platforms, iOS and gaiagps.com, I can assure you creating route is not that painful. It though varies somewhat from one to another platform. Please provide which platform you are talking about so that we can provide more help.
From your second para it looks like you might be talking about gaiagps.com. When you move a map while creating/editing a route, click and hold the map with mouse and then release mous button. Otherwise, it would create a new waypoint where you clicked the map. If accidentally you click and place a waypoint where you don’t want one, go ahead and click it again and it will show a delete icon to delete the waypoint.
Regarding third para of yours, yes there is no direction arrows while creating a route or after creating one. There is request already out for Gaia to add this option and I am not sure whether this is their in their roadmap yet.
Regarding other competing products, I think GAIA by far is the most well rounded product, though individual features in other products might not there in GAIA.
