Elevation Errors

Based on a limited amount of data, the elevation reported by Gaia is consistently about 200 feet less than the true elevation as revealed by USGS maps which themselves are consistent with the elevation reported correctly on another app on my phone. This is in rural southern Maine. A large number of satellites are visible to both phone apps.

The coordinate datum is WGS84. Switching to NAD27 reveals a several hundred foot error.

Any ideas? Those accompanying me on a hike today using the iPhone version of Gaia on the same track had the elevation reported correctly, so this is a Gaia/Android bug.

  I'm sorry you are having issues with elevation accuracy in the app.
  
  We have received similar reports from other users and have an open bug report over this.
  
  I noticed you also emailed support and I have followed up with more information there.
