How can I share a track with a friend but not to everyone?

I received a route from a friend and opened the route.  I noticed on the right side of the screen "nearby routes" and clicked on one of them.  I found it wasn't from my friend but someone else.  Is there a way to keep routes "private" or if you share them with someone, you share with everyone?

  I answered my own question.  I just sent my first tracks and see an option to - share with everyone or just those whom I give a link.
