Difficulty browsing and searching folders with large number of waypoints
I have a folder with ~17,000 waypoints (the gpx file I used to populate it is ~8 MB). The Gaia website and iOS app display the waypoints on the map with no issue. However, browsing and searching the folder does not work on the website, and is very slow to load on the iOS app using an iPhone 7s. Other programs such as Locus and Backcountry Navigator handle this without issue. It would be very inconvenient to divide this folder into smaller folders because the dataset is updated with some regularity. Any ideas why this is, and can it be remedied?

Hi Jesse,
I'm sorry that you had trouble with your folder.
While the app doesn't have an import limit, I think any file with over 1,000 waypoints will start to slow things down.
I opened a bug report since I noticed your folder page won't open at all on the website. After discussing with the team, we think it'd be possible to eventually make up to 25,000 waypoints possible, but I don't have any ETA for when we'll get to work on that.
If you purchased Gaia GPS and would like a refund, please let me know and I can help you with that.
I think a better alternative for your file would be to turn it into a single map layer instead of thousands of waypoints - and import that into Gaia GPS. We wrote an article about how to can turn a file like yours into a custom map: https://help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/articles/115009264128
