Wikitrax
We need a better way for Gaia users to find relevant information about the trails others are running. I find it interesting, but not particularly useful, that you allow users to post their trails, and for all of us to view them.
The problem is that I use your system for running my Jeep off road, while others use it for ATV’s and still others hike, hunt or horseback. This conglomeration of trails is useless to me as I don’t know which type trail it is, and whether it would be suitable or interesting to me.
The solution to me seems to be a robust wiki system where each of us has to enter specific info to post a trail. It would include not only the mode but also particulars, like rankings for difficulty (I like the Moab 10 point scale for Jeeps), scenic beauty, trail surfaces, brush or trail overgrowth, notations of particular obstacles or scenic viewpoints (and GPS waypoints and of course photos), dates, weather conditions when the trail was run, and the like. Trails should be editable by power users or by those with more current info, with notices to original posts, and with a section for comments.
All of this could be configured for presentation back to us, selectable based upon our intended use, ranked by the selection criteria.
What you have today is like a pin on a map saying someone was there. Interesting but not useful. You have a great opportunity to turn this into something highly valuable to those seeking their own form of adventure.

I agree! Bee asking for this for a couple of years now - simple icon on mode would work.
Thanks
