No trails shown on my Gaia
I recently visited Salt Fork State Park in Ohio. There were several trails to hike or run. When we arrived at the park and prepare to run, no trails were showing on Gaia. The park shows trails on an online map.
Why is this? Or, who or how are trails added to Gaia. This is a State Park and I would think their trails would be on Gaia.
Thank you -

Hi,
I'm sorry you didn't see any trails in Gaia for this park. I checked a few map sources and indeed they are missing!
Why is this?
Likely this trail information for this park was never provided to any of the major mapping providers we use.
how are trails added to Gaia?
Gaia Topo, as well as several other sources in the app are based on OpenStreetMap data, an Open-source and public mapping project.
We wrote a blog post detailing how you can contribute to OSM: http://blog.gaiagps.com/map-your-world-with-openstreetmap/
If you contact your State park, they may be able to provide you with GPX files for the trails in the park. These files can be uploaded to OpenStreetMap.
Once your OSM updates are uploaded and finalized, you'll start to see the trails appear in many of the maps in Gaia GPS.
