full subscription, but satellite images either not there or out of date

I am a new user of gaia gps and was hoping to use it for navigation in remote parts of Argentina, primarily on the ipad. I have a full subscription. Two things of interest:

1) The desktop login will not zoom satellite images better than 5 km

2) The ipad app does zoom, but the quality of the image is a few generations ( 5 - 8 years?) behind that available on Google Earth, which is not adequate.

  Hi,

  I'm happy to help.

  Can you confirm the name of the satellite source you are viewing?

  There are two that might provide adequate coverage. 

  1. 'Satellite' - provided by MapBox (found under Satellite Imagery)

  2. 'World Imagery' provided by ESRI (found under Premium Base Maps)
