Yep.  Same here (mine went from $30ish to $60ish).  I spent some time looking at alternatives and decided to stick with Gaia for now.  BUT, now I have been fighting with the app for several days to get some maps downloaded before I leave on a trip.  So ... not only did my cost double, but things have become way more frustrating in the last week or so.

Absolutely brutal increase.  Shocked when I got my bill today.  This is it for Gaia for me.  too bad as this was a great app. Outside mag ruined a great thing

It's unbelievable, a 100% price increase when the product hasn't changed much at all. Talk about greed.
This is also it for me, changing to on x off-road at half the price

Not only are they increasing the price, now it does not work in the outback without cell service because it constantly wants you to relog in with a password, which you cannot do without cell service.  very dangerous and a reason to dump this map program.  not worth the hassle and they don't know how dangerous it is to force these logins when people are hiking in remote areas in bad weather.  Outdoor magazine has always been the kiss of death for many nice places they have exploited.  I hate them and everything they stand for.

Management is not listening to its customers. Unreliable now (forced logouts), and suddenly pricy.

They just priced themselves out of a loyal premium tier customer of many years. Now I see you cannot download any maps for off-line use without a premium membership; it used to be they only charged for premium maps and layers, not for downloading the basic ones (i.e. USGS 2016). I understand they need to make money but I feel they should’ve added another layer where, for a minimal cost, you could still download the basic maps for off-line use.

I will be trying out other options on my new phone and, for tomorrow’s hike, take my old phone which is still fully loaded with maps. Sorry Outside, I’m gone (You sent an email trying to keep me with a 30% off deal on Wednesday, by Saturday none of the links worked for a discounted price). Goodbye.

Same here. I had an old 5 year subscription that lapsed about a month ago. Can’t see myself paying $60 per year for gaiagps, even though I used it reg. Just a crazy, insane, and greedy price hike. Maybe there will be some holiday deals to entice me to come back. But from what I can tell in the forums, Outside does not seem to care. Well, we’ll see how the market treats them. Maybe leadership will come to its senses.
