Search misses named items on the map

I found a place I wanted to research on the map named "Three Fingers Rock" in the Oregon Owyhee area. When I went back to the map I had lost the location in a zoom and the search had no result for "Three Fingers Rock" even though I had seen it on the map earlier.

This type of thing has happened often for me. I will hear of a road name or geographical location but there is no search result in Gaia though searches on the web finds at least some information. How do YouTubers know the name of a location yet there is no reference to it in gaia search? Should I get another mapping app or map source?

Is there a trick to getting better search results? Why did my search above not work?
