Losing something...
This problem has been reported before but I am experiencing it now
I lose something - is it the GPS signal or phone signal?
I get a white screen which has a rotating circle and the words "Loading..."
This carries on for sometime until I move some distance when the Gai app "returns"
I lose some of the track as well, I think during this time it is not storing or recording it
This happens in the same place in the UK, in hampshire in the countryside but it also happened today in a different part of Hampshire
Do I need to be in an area with a phone signal to store the track on the cloud or does it store it on my computer?
I have an iPhone 12 mini running iOS 17.1.2

I have not had this specific issue but I have had GPS issues which may be resolved via one of these options below. Keep in mind though that it’s possible it’s not a GAIA issues but how the phone service and/or GPS works - referred to “edge of service issues” and is common across phones and platforms.
Hopefully one of these things works for you though:
1) Set your Location Service to Always: Gaia GPS isn't locating me. How do I adjust iOS location services?
Go to Settings App > Privacy > Location Services
Set Gaia GPS access to Never and quit the Settings App
Then relaunch Settings and turn it back to Always2) Turn your phone on and off a couple of times. This will delete any GPS errors that may have accumulated in your phone's GPS chip.
3) Make sure your phone is not in "Low Power Mode."
iPhone Settings App > Battery > Low Power Mode = OFF0 -
Thank you for your prompt response
I will try doing these actions and let you know how I get on
